Oneof the most common things I'll hear from my patients, is they'll say, quot; Axe, I can'tsleep.quot; And if you're one of those people that have trouble falling asleep, or strugglewith insomnia, or you wake up during the night, that's very common. In this tutorial I'm goingto go through the exact steps you need to follow to get better quality of sleep andto help you fall asleep fast. Step number one in overcoming sleep deprivationis to change your diet, surprisingly. And, for a lot of people, their diets are keepingthem from falling asleep. Before you go to bed, you need to really drop your carbohydrateconsumption. If you're consuming too many

sugars and carbs, your body is burning those,it's getting warm. And so, lowering that sugar, and grain intake, and carbohydrate intakebefore bed is important. And get some good quality fats before you go to bed. Somethinglike an avocado is a great food to actually help you fall asleep at night, either avocadoor some organic yogurt. So again, avocado and organic yogurt, are the best foods tohelp you naturally fall asleep. The reason they work is those foods are high in magnesiumand potassium. Magnesium and potassium are two crucial nutrients you need to help relaxthe body and to help you fall asleep at night. So remember avocado and yogurt, the top twofoods you can consume just a little bit here

or there in the evening that will help youfall asleep at night. The second step you need to do to overcomeinsomnia is to reduce stress. And for most people, along with diet, this is the big thingthat's keeping you up at night, is your mind starts racing, you keep thinking and you can'tshut your brain off. And there are several reasons for that. One, is you watched TV upuntil the point that you went to bed. That visual stimulus you're watching constantly,especially the blue light, and that doesn't just include the TV screen, it also includesyour computer, your iPad, or your phone. And that light is blue light, which actually tellsyour pineal gland in your brain that it actually

needs to keep running, so it messes with yourcircadian rhythms and cortisol levels. It keeps you from falling asleep at night whenyou were looking at that bright blue light in the computer screens and TV screens. So,about 30 minutes at least, ideally, an hour, but at least 30 minutes before bed, you needto shut off all electronics, and you need to start reading something that helps yourelax. Or start journaling. So you can get out ajournal and start writing things down. You can look at your schedule for the next dayand write that down. But I really recommend reading a novel that you enjoy, reading adevotional, your Bible, or just something

that helps you relax and wind down at least30 minutes before bed. And that's going to help, and in general reducing stress. And if you have something that's really stressingyou out, that's keeping you from sleeping at night, I recommend you start writing downthose things that stress you out. Work on addressing those the best you can, and thenstart scheduling things into the week that you love to do. It is so important. If you'vehad a great day, and you've been happy all day, it actually creates certain hormonesin your body known as endorphins that actually help you fall asleep at night. So actually,having a good mood throughout the day can

help improve your sleep at night. So stepnumber two, shut down the computers and read a book before bed. As well as just add somejoy into your life. Reduce stress; it's very important for falling asleep at night. Step number three, is take quality supplements,especially a magnesium supplement. And taking a magnesium supplement, about 400 to 500mga night before bed, can help you naturally reduce stress, and really improve sleep. Andso I recommend a high quality magnesium chelate or magnesium citrate before bed. So takinga magnesium supplement can help you fall asleep. Also supplements like melatonin can help,or valerian root. But I don't recommend doing

Hey guys, Andrew Esquivel here back with anothertutorial. Today, I'm going to show you how to change the settings for pressure on yourPhillips Respironics Remstar Auto AFlex machine. Now, a lot of people with say this is a legalgray zone because supposedly it is a myth that it is illegal to change the settingson this and should only be changed by your physician and what not. It's not illegal.Show me the law that states that it is illegal and I'll take this tutorial down. Until then,I don't believe you. It doesn't make sense. I've seen testimonials from other ssaying that it's absolutely ridiculous to think that so I hope they're right. Anyways,moving along. This is the CPAP and its got

the humidifier and the heated tube. Now, letsgo to the settings here. Obviously.we've got 'Therapy', 'CFlex', 'Setup', 'Info'.Most people would just go to 'Setup' and be like quot;La De Da De Da. Oh wait a minute, theonly thing I can adjust is the ramp and the ramp is right here.quot; You can always set rampto something lower than what it actually can do. So what we do is go back and click 'Setup'.Keep it on there for a minute. Follow me. Hold these two buttons here ('Ramp' and 'Wheel'button) while it's on setup. Hold it and you'll hear a few beeps. Now, you've entered thereal menu. Now, go to 'Setup'. Now, this is what you change. Change the 'Auto max' andthe 'Auto min'. Now, I recommend don't go

past your 'Auto max'. Just change your 'Automin' and there's a number of reasons why you'd do this. If the settings are too high andyou start getting uncomfortable and you start having leaks and what not or it's hard tobreathe, you'd lower it. If you can't breathe at all, you'd raise it. Now, lets exit outof here because there are a lot of settings in here. Let me just go back. Okay, so.wheredoes this leave usé Well, I got another topic of discussion for you. Now, when it comesto CPAP masks, there are different designs we all know this. I need a full face. Alot of people have this. It is the 'Mirage Quadro From ResMed', pretty decent mask. It'sdesigned to work at the lower pressure settings

around 5 to 7. However, at 7 I do find myselfhaving a lot of leaks. So, with this mask, I would lower it from 7 in order to make itmore comfortable and I'd have the max at whatever my prescribed me at. Now the next scenariohappens to be something called a 'Hybrid Mask'. So a 'Hybrid Mask' has some unique thingsabout it. It is a full face technically but as you can see it's not like other full facemasks. For the nose, it has nasal pillows and for the mouth it's just a mouthpiece.Now this is an issue because I did a review on this mask and it's a cool mask except forthe fact it's nearly impossible to breathe through your nose because these tubes justdon't allow enough air to pass through for

you to be able to breathe. Well, I thoughtquot;What if i increased the pressure to allow me to actually breatheéquot; And I did that. Andit's like freakin' magic, I can breathe. So, I did a little experiment with that and itworked. For that mask, I had to set it all the way to 12 way higher than what my prescribed for my minimum pressure but this mask required it in order to function at all.But of course you get other issues where you have some leaking because it is higher pressure.What are you gonna do, you want to be able to breathe righté It defeats the purpose ofa CPAP mask if you can't even breathe. So, I mean there are different scenarios in whichyou would need to adjust it and it's not like

you're gonna go to your every singletime if you're 's like mine and you just can't get an appointment. You got todo it on your own and for the most part it doesn't make sense to drive all the way to to change one setting especially if you just want to use a different mask. I'vegot a variety of masks. I've got: nose masks, I've got full face, I've got hybrid masks.Each one needs something a little different. So it only makes sense that you'd want tochange your settings by yourself dependent on the situation. The only thing is, knowyour limits. Don't do anything that's ridiculous and uncomfortable. Don't do anything that'llbreak the machine. And, I just wanna note,

Philips Respironics Dream Station CPAP Machine Review

Hi this is Chris from The CPAP Shop, wantedto show you a brand new machine from Philips Respironics. This is called the Dream Station. So whatyou get is this nice padded case with a shoulder strap, and on the back side is this slot sothat you can put it through some luggage (it'll fit real nice on there). So we'll open itup. We have the traditional Respironics nonheated tubing (this is a 6 foot tube), then we havethe heated tube. Here is a user manual for the CPAP and also a user manual for the heatedhumidifier. There's also going to be an 80watt power block that will sit in herewith a cord. Here's the machine (I'll

move this out of the way). So here is thenew DreamStation. It's forwardfacing. This is where the tubing would connect, this ison a swivel so you can sit it anywhere you like on your nightstand because this willswivel around. This has a color screen and I'll turn it on for you on in a moment.Has the heated humidifier here, this is the CPAP Portion. You can remove the heated humidifierif you're traveling and you want to just take the machine itself, and you want to takeas least stuff as possible. You press this little button and it releases it. So here'sthe humidifier and here's the CPAP. So you'd connect the tubing right here if you'rejust gonna take the CPAP by itself and leave

the heated humidifier at home. I'll put these two back together. Here ishow you open it up. Here's the water chamber. You fill it withdistilled water. There's a line right here that shows you exactly where to fill it upto. This is all open so you can actually get your hand in there and clean it. There'sno lid right here this is it. When you put this back in here, this gasket in here willseal over this. So it's not it cannot spill now. So, you fill the water tank up from over here.Put it on the tray. Now it's locked in.

So the machine itself has some really neatfeatures. It has ambient light, so the screen is not gonna illuminate your whole bedroom.It will go out. It has a new filter design which is right in here. This is the new filterdesign there is still 2 filters as with many of the other Respironics units. It hasan ultrafine filter here, and then right in here, there's a foam filter. This one'swashable and this one's disposable. It will come with the machine, and we always provideextras. So they're white colored, so you can see when they get dirty. You'd throwthe ultra fine filter away and you'd wash this out.

This is where the SD card is. And this isgonna come with the unit. This is gonna record a lot of information that you can then giveto your if they want to really get some detailed information about your sleeptherapy. This machine will come on board however withsome information. Since this is a pretty sophisticated machine, it's going to give you some morningfeedback, reminders, a 3night summary, goal progress,. It really does try to keep youinvolved in your therapy. Now there's three different models thatare going to be available of this DreamStation. There's going to be the CPAP, a CPAP Pro,and an Auto CPAP. So the first two which is

the CPAP and the CPAP Pro are a standard machine,a standard, fixed machine. Meaning that we would set it on a fixed pressure, a 6, a 10,an 18, whatever your prescription says if you're going to purchase the CPAP or theCPAP Pro, you would set it to that specific pressure and then that would be it. The more soughtafter version which is theAuto, which is this version, does not work that way. It works on a range of pressure.So the machine will automatically adjust the pressure (that's what the Auto means). Themachine will not just stay at a fixed pressure of, let's say, 5 or 6. It will automaticallyadjust up and down as you sleep during the
